We got the Sony yesterday for Christmas, and unpacked it right away. It is bigger than we expected, and we had to rearrange part of our living room to accommodate the player. It really is wonderful.
The sound is surprising for a unit that sells in this price range. We like chamber music and we got it sounding right.
I read on some of the reviews posted here that the disc changer is loud. Give me a break. The changer does what it has to do without interfering.
If your ears are so sensitive or your expectations so pure that the sound of a disc moving in a machine is going to upset your sensibilities then I don't know what you might really want. It's a bargain.
